M-EID Events and AnnouncementsFeatured Workshop/Seminar Speaker: Anatoly Yagola on Inverse ProblemsDates: November 6th, 8th, 13th and 15th from 4:00pm-6:00pmLocation: DHC 023 The ecology of endemic, epidemic and emergent infectious diseases is a topic of local and global importance with considerable scientific, societal, ethical and policy aspects. The M-EID Program unites faculty researchers from multiple disciplines in an integrative enterprise to train Ph.D. students to lead the collaborative, cross-disciplinary efforts needed to address complex real-world problems as exemplified by the ecology of infectious disease. Math Colloquium Series-Anatoly YagolaDate: November 5th from 4pm - 5pmLocation: Math 311 Some recent results related to estimation of errors in inverse and ill-posed problems will be discussed. The speaker is a world-renowned specialist working in the area of inverse and ill-posed problems, including general theory, numerical methods, and applications of these problems. He is the author of more than 300 scientific publications, including 12 monographs, on this topic as well as on mathematical physics, applied mathematics and science education.
