UM Resources
- Mansfield Library has a section devoted to resources for finding funding, located on the main floor near the entrance. The Foundation Directory Online is also available through the Mansfield Library.
On-line Databases
- GrantsNet
- A free funding directory and searchable database offered by Science Careers (from the journal Science). Particularly helpful for younger researchers, including graudate students, postdocs, and junior faculty. Users can also subscribe to funding alerts.
Federal Agencies
- Grants.gov
- Searchable database all discretionary grants offered by the 26 federal grant-making agencies. The database can also be browsed by agency and category. Proposals may also be submitted via Grants.gov for many federal programs.
- Department of Energy
- Four offices within the DOE award most of the agency’s research grants. The Office of Science awards grants in the areas of basic science, advanced computing, biological and environmental research, fusion, high energy and nuclear physics, materials, and medical.
- Environmental Protection Agency
- National Institutes of Health
- The NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts is the official publication for NIH grant policies, guidelines, and funding opportunities at all of the NIH institutes. The Guide can be searched or browsed for program information. Weekly updates are available at the NIH website, or you can subscribe to the updates via the NIH LISTSERV.
